In his doctoral thesis at Stockholm University of the Arts Reinventing Regietheater – the actor-director relation in rehearsals Johannes Maria Schmit examines directorial power abuse. It proposes a consent-based “Space of Rehearsals” — informed by psychoanalytic transference and the Wheel of Consent — where Regietheater’s artistic potential is preserved through ethical, co-curated rehearsal practices.
